Bill Hughes grew up in San Antonio, Texas, where he swam and played football through high school. He went on to play waterpolo and graduate from the University of Texas A&M. He met his wife and moved to California in 2001 and started teaching. He and his wife have been married for 20 years and 5 children. He has been at West Ranch from it's opening and have coached many sports. He is currently an assistant coach for the West Ranch High School Swim team who enjoy splaying waterpolo with the SCV Masters team.
